This policy covers the Quiet Blocker browser extension: [Quiet Blocker for Firefox](/quiet-blocker-for-firefox) and [Quiet Blocker for Chrome](/quiet-blocker-for-chrome). Quiet Blocker does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data.

### What the extension does and does not do

- **No telemetry.** It sends no usage data, statistics, crash reports or identifiers anywhere, and it has no server of its own.

- **No account** is needed.

- **Your data stays on your computer.** Your settings, your own filters and site lists, and the blocked-item counts are stored only in your browser profile. Quiet Blocker never uploads or syncs them.

- **Pages you visit.** The extension reads the pages you visit only to block and hide ads and to run the Block element picker, on your computer. Nothing about the pages you visit is recorded or sent.

### Network requests

- **Filter lists.** The Chrome edition has its filter lists built in and makes no requests of its own. The Firefox edition downloads its filter lists from their maintainers (easylist.to, fanboy.co.nz, pgl.yoyo.org) every 4 days. In both editions, a list you add by its address is downloaded from that address. These downloads are sent without cookies or referrer and contain nothing about you.

- **Updates.** Firefox checks magento.zip for new versions of Quiet Blocker (a standard request made by Firefox itself). The Chrome edition updates through the Chrome Web Store.

- **Backups** are files you save yourself; they go wherever you put them.

### Downloading from magento.zip

If you download Quiet Blocker for Firefox from this site, the download form is covered by the [Magento.zip privacy policy](/privacy-policy-cookie-restriction-mode). Using the extension itself sends nothing to us.
