## Description

Hosted Essentials keeps your Magento 2 or Mage-OS store online, patched and backed up. It runs in its own isolated account on our customer server, we apply security releases and test platform updates before they go live, and you keep your Magento admin while we look after everything underneath it.

### Who it's for

Smaller stores that already run well and change little, or that have their own developer for new work. You want the hosting, security patches, backups and monitoring handled by people who work with Mage-OS every day, without paying for monthly development time you would not use. A typical fit is up to about 20,000 products and 50,000 sessions a month. If your store changes every month, Managed Care is usually the better plan.

### What's included

- **Isolated hosting.** Your store runs in its own account on our Mage-OS customer server, with its own system user, PHP pool (up to 8 workers), database user, Redis and search user, so other stores on the server cannot read your files or data. 50 GB storage. Our own stores run on a separate server.

- **Fully managed.** Only we log in to the server. You get your Magento admin; code changes, extension installs, theme changes and deploys go through us.

- **Cloudflare in front.** Free plan with our firewall (WAF) rules and an origin lock, so traffic reaches your store only through Cloudflare.

- **Mage-OS updates.** Security releases applied. Minor and patch releases every quarter, tested on a staging clone before they go live. Extension updates when they fix a security issue.

- **Security patches.** Critical, actively exploited issues patched within 72 hours, or blocked at the firewall within 24 hours until the patch is in. High-severity issues within 7 days.

- **Offsite backups.** Daily database and file backups, stored offsite for 14 days. One restore per quarter included.

- **Monitoring.** Uptime and SSL checks every 5 minutes with alerts to us and to you, a public status page, and a daily malware and file-integrity scan.

- **Support.** Email and tickets, Monday to Friday 9:00–17:00 ET. We reply by the next business day; store-down issues within 4 business hours.

- **Health fixes.** 1 hour per quarter for log errors, cron and indexer problems. Other work is $125 per hour.

- **Uptime target 99.5%.** Measured per month, excluding announced maintenance (up to 4 hours a month, at night). If we miss it, you get a service credit.

### Requirements

- **Card payments through an iframe or redirect.** We only host stores whose card entry is an iframe or a redirect from the payment provider, such as Stripe Elements, the Payment Element or Stripe Checkout, or an equivalent hosted-field or redirect gateway. Card data must never be entered into or pass through our servers. If your store uses a direct-post or server-side card gateway, we move it to a supported gateway first, as part of a migration or as a quoted job.

- **A supported platform.** Magento 2 Open Source or Mage-OS, on a release we still support. Older releases and Magento 1 stores are upgraded or migrated first.

- **Changes go through us.** There is no SSH, SFTP, file or database access for customers. Tell us what you need and we deploy it.

### How onboarding works

- **Send the request form** on this page with your store URL and the plan you are interested in. Nothing is charged at this stage.

- **Intake call.** We go through your platform version, extensions, integrations, traffic and payment gateway, and confirm the plan that fits.

- **Agreement and payment link.** You receive the terms and a secure Stripe payment link for the plan and term you chose, monthly or yearly.

- **Take-over audit and move-in.** We set up your isolated account, copy the store over, run a baseline malware scan, and set up Cloudflare, monitoring and the first offsite backup, including a test restore. If we migrated your store, this step is part of the migration and costs nothing; otherwise it is a one-off $950.

- **You check, we switch.** You test the store on our server, then we switch DNS at a quiet time agreed with you.

- **Ongoing care.** Patches, backups and monitoring run as described above, and any change you ask for goes through us.

### What's not included

Hosted Essentials covers keeping the store online and secure. These are quoted separately or charged at $125 per hour:

- Developer work beyond the quarterly health-fix hour, and a staging copy (both included in Managed Care).

- Major platform upgrades, such as Mage-OS 3 to 4, and PHP upgrades beyond the versions we support: quoted as projects.

- Third-party licence fees: Hyvä products, paid extensions and your payment provider's fees.

- Email hosting and email marketing. Store email goes out through your own mail provider.

- SEO and content work.

- Fixing bugs in extensions we did not write. We report them to the vendor and can work around them at the hourly rate.

- Payment integrations where card data reaches the server, and PCI certification of your business.

### FAQ

#### Can I get SSH or SFTP access?

No. Hosting is fully managed: only we log in to the servers, and you get your Magento admin. Code changes, extension installs, theme changes and deploys go through us, at the hourly rate on this plan. Managed Care and Priority Care include a staging copy where changes are tested first. If you work with your own developer, they hand the change to us and we deploy it.

#### Which payment methods can my store use?

Any gateway where the card is entered in an iframe or on a page served by the payment provider: Stripe Elements, the Payment Element or Stripe Checkout, or an equivalent hosted-field or redirect gateway. Card data never enters or passes through our servers, which keeps your store in the simplest PCI scope (SAQ A). This is a firm requirement on every plan. If your store posts card numbers to its own server today, we move it to a supported gateway before it goes live with us.

#### Where does my store run?

In its own isolated account on our customer server, which hosts customer stores only. Each store has its own system user, PHP pool, database user, Redis and search user, and Cloudflare sits in front of every store. Stores that need more room, or must not share a server, move to Priority Care, which runs on its own VM or dedicated server.

#### Which platforms and versions do you host?

Magento 2 Open Source and Mage-OS on a release we still support, with Hyvä or another theme. Magento 1 and out-of-support releases need an upgrade or migration first; see our migration services.

#### How do I pay, and is there a minimum term?

After the intake call we send you a secure Stripe payment link for your plan, monthly or yearly. Hosting is not sold through this store's cart. The minimum term is 3 months. Yearly plans are paid in advance at the price of 10 months, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the year; monthly plans can be cancelled after the minimum term, effective at the end of the paid month.

#### What does setup cost?

Nothing if we migrated your store. Otherwise a one-off $950 take-over: an audit (core changes, extension inventory, malware scan), the move-in and the DNS and Cloudflare switch. If the audit finds a compromise or an unsupported core, the clean-up is quoted separately before we go ahead. With a migration and a yearly plan, the first 2 months are at 50%.

#### What happens if the uptime target is missed?

You get a credit of 10% of that month's fee for every full 0.5% below the target, up to 50% of the month's fee. Announced maintenance does not count as downtime.
